A lot of our friends and family own cast iron pans, but many of them don't ever get the pans out because they are unsure how to properly clean cast iron. (We've heard the word "intimidated" many times.) In our house, we have cast iron pans that have been handed down three generations. We're happy to say we use ours daily. And cleaning them is a snap! ;)
The Original Saltbag was, in part, inspired by our dear friend, Emily, who's a chef (among other things!)—she learned culinary arts at Ecole de Cuisine La Varenne in Paris and worked with Julia Child and Simone Beck in southern France. Emily shared her insights for cleaning cast iron. Together, we fortified the process by incorporating our all-natural, coarse-cut Original Saltbag salt.
