Original Saltbag is the Easiest Way to Clean Cast Iron

So many who love to cook, love to cook with cast iron. Chefs use it religiously. But, one of the big questions is how to clean cast iron. The answer is the Original Saltbag! It cleans and seasons and takes about a minute!

Our Instructions—it's so easy!

  1. Gently scrape out the chunky stuff with a non-metal spatula
  2. Pour a teaspoon of oil—flaxseed, olive or coconut—into your cast iron pan
  3. Heat the pan to warm the oil
  4. Using the wooden spoon provided, drop in a spoonful of Original Saltbag coarse-cut salt
  5. Use one of the Original Saltbag cotton towels to rub the salt around the pan
  6. Wipe the pan out—the used salt can simply go in the sink or compost bin where it'll breakdown naturally
